About Lolalu design

Anita ElderAnita L. Elder
Owner/Graphic Designer

There are two things Anita passionate about in her work: providing good-looking designs and keeping projects affordable.

Before becoming a designer, Anita worked as an administrative assistant and often had to find someone to create printed materials for the company. More often than not, the designer quoted a price that was beyond her company’s reach. If she found someone within their budget, the work reflected the lower cost. Plus, paying for cheaper service usually meant it took longer to get a response to an email or voice mail message.

Exasperated, Anita started doing more of the work herself and eventually took some classes. She loved being back in school and made the decision to pursue a degree. Now Anita offers her clients attractive designs that get results without blowing their budgets.

Anita sees Lolalu Design as a one-stop shop for clients since she offer both print and web design services. This saves them time that they can use to concentrate on other aspects of their businesses.

Clients can also count on Anita to be responsive, and often receive replies to their emails within minutes.

She knows she has exceeded expectations when a client refers other people to her. It’s the greatest compliment they can give Anita!

And speaking of compliments, the National Association of Photoshop Professionals featured Anita's design work in the September 2003 issue of their magazine. She feels very honored to be recognized by a magazine that is read by others in her field.

Lori Zue StephensLori Sue Stevens
Copywriter/editor

Lori evidently decided in first grade to be an editor. Her teacher wrote, “Lori wants to be a nurse, a hair stylist, or an editor when she grows up.” The nursing and stylist careers never materialized, probably because Lori got an early taste for “fixing” words written by other people. She developed her grammar and editing abilities throughout high school and college, then later honed her skills at providing target audiences the compelling information they need to make confident decisions.

Lori’s background taught her to be flexible. Front and center in the limelight, or coaching from the sidelines – she does both, but prefers to nurture others so they achieve their goals.

“It’s more satisfying,” Lori said, “to watch an client’s excitement grow as the project takes shape, and to receive jubilant emails and phone calls roll in. That’s what nourishes my soul:  Supporting other people as they make their dreams come true.”

So what’s with the name, Lolalu?

When I was trying to come up with a memorable name for my freelance business, I remembered that another designer combined the names of her dogs. I have two cats: Rico and Lola. Ricola was taken by a cough drop company, so I decided to use only Lola’s name. Lolalu is a pet name I use when I sing to her while I’m working. I think she prefers listening to the radio.
